Immunologic Assays

Free Protein S

Free Protein S

Nordic Biomarker’s Free Protein S (FPS) is a latex immunoassay for the quantitative determination of free protein S in citrated plasma. Inherited and acquired protein S deficiency is an important risk factor for deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and pulmonary embolism (PE). Measurements of free protein S can detect more subtypes of protein S deficiency than measurements of total protein S and has therefore become an important tool in clinical thrombosis investigations MRX FPS consists of sub-micron sized polystyrene particles coupled to two different monoclonal antibodies specific for protein S. This system is not sensitive to protein S bound to C4BP, and therefore only reacts with free protein S.

Red Free Protein S

Red Free Protein S is suitable for instruments with optical channels in the range 600–800 nm. That is, most larger coagulation analyzer as well as practically all biochemistry analyzers can run Red D-dimer.

Blue Free Protein S

Nordic Blue Free Protein S is suitable for automatic and semi-automatic coagulation and clinical-laboratory instruments using turbidimetric detection in the 400–600 nm wavelength range.
