MRX Thrombin Time
MRX Thrombin Time (TT) reagent is a functional clotting assay measuring the ability of exogenous thrombin to convert fibrinogen to fibrin, followed by fibrin polymerisation and clot detection. MRX Thrombin Time has been designed for easy quality control and should only be used with normal controls. The thrombin time may be prolonged in patients with an impaired polymerisation process, commonly observed in patients with hereditary dysfibrinogenemia. The thrombin time may also be prolonged due to presence of fibrinogen degradation products and drugs, i.e., direct and indirect thrombin inhibitors.
